Concussion

Suggested steps to speed concussion recovery time:

1
If you think you may be concussed, get evaluated as soon as possible. A complimentary phone consult one on one with the Doctor is alway available, ask your questions with no obligation.  We will fit you in same day whenever possible for a functional evaluation of movement, tension and scope of concussion.  We utilize state of the art imaging technology (sEMG, Thermography and Heart Rate Variability) to evaluate and track your recovery progress.

2

Limit screen time and exposure to bright lights and loud sounds.

3

Avoid jarring or bouncing movements of head, neck or body.

4

Stay hydrated, I personally love coconut water as a source of hydration.

5

Take it easy, rest, sleep is a time your brain can reset and heal itself.

6

Eat clean protein, some research indicates that higher amino acid (building blocks of cells) intake may speed recovery.

7

Increase Omega-3s intake, especially DHA (I recommend Nordic Naturals brand and suggest 2 grams with each meal for best outcomes, watch gut tolerance, if you have issue, reduce intake util gut tolerance increases.

8

Eat foods high in antioxidants, think lots of bright varied colors in your foods

9

Trust your body to heal, listen to your body, it will help you know what’s working and what’s too much.
